Goal: Create a Financial Literacy Highlights Podcast for your Blog

Instructions:

STEP 1 - CREATE YOUR AUDIO FILE
  1. Open your blog and Financial Literacy PowerPoint.
  2. Pick 2 topics and their highlights to create a podcast on.
  3. Open up MS Word and type a script about what you learned in those topics and why they are important to you.
Suggested script:
"Hi, my name is xxxxxx and in this podcast, I want to share some of the highlights of my Financial Literacy studies. Two topics that were of particular interest to me were <xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> and <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>. In the topic of <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, I learned <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>. In the topic of <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, I learned <xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>."
  1. Rehearse it in your mind.
  2. Now go to START and open up Audacity.
  3. Follow this video instruction on:How to record an audio file in Audacity
  4. Record your audio
  5. Remove the background noise with the Noise Removal tool. Watch this video on **Getting Started with Audacity and how to Enhance your Audio.** to do so.
  6. When done, go to: File-->Export
    1. Give it a name
    2. Make sure you save it in your folder
    3. Select MP3 under Save AsType
    4. SAVE

When you get here, have a classmate listen to your recording and give your feedback on it.

STEP 2 - CREATE THE PODCAST
  1. Go to archive.org and create an account OR logon if you already have one
  2. Upload your MP3 file & complete required RED fields in the form.
  3. Click SHARE MY FILES at the bottom
  4. On the next screen, you will see an audio player icon to the right, click on the white Greek Revival building icon. See example hereexternal image blank.gif
    1. that says SHARE AND EMBED CODE
    2. COPY the embed code that appears in the window

STEP 3 - CREATE THE BLOG POST

TITLE: Financial Literacy Highlights
  1. Click on the HTML button in the upper left.
  2. Paste the code in that blank window
  3. Save
  4. Publish
  5. View Blog to see it.
